We are exploring the possibility of hosting a blood drive in memory of Remi & Mackenzie Greer, two former BES students who tragically passed away last year, and would like to gauge interest from those who would be willing to donate.
Blood donation is critically important because there is no substitute for human blood. Patients in trauma situations, service members, veterans, cancer patients, and individuals with chronic illnesses depend on volunteer donors every single day. Even one donation can help save more than one life by providing red cells, plasma, and platelets.
Blood supplies often run low during winter months, holidays, and times of increased emergency demand. When shortages occur, hospitals and emergency responders face challenges maintaining necessary supplies for surgeries, accident victims, and patients with ongoing transfusion needs. Your willingness to donate directly strengthens our community’s emergency readiness and supports those who depend on a stable blood supply, and we think this would be a great and meaningful way to honor Remi and Mackenzie.
Donating blood also comes with positive benefits:
Quick and easy process — The actual blood donation typically takes 8–10 minutes, with the entire appointment usually completed in 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Health check — Donors receive a mini-physical including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and iron level screening.
Community impact — A single donation can help multiple patients and directly supports medical readiness within our region.
Personal satisfaction — Donating is a simple way to make a life‑saving impact with immediate, tangible results.
